Economics of scale, the use if the external provider’s infrastructure, the opportunity for the health care organization to focus on its core business and enhanced flexibility were important benefits of outsourcing. It is clear from the foregoing observation that although the health care industry limited its outsourcing model to medical transcription and medical data entry earlier, but as the awareness about the benefits of outsourcing is growing, they have started outsourcing services pertaining to health care information management systems, data, clinical research, medical billing and patient data security systems amongst others. Scope of the study to identify advantages and dis-advantages of outsourcing in health sector, and to know how outsourcing improve efficiency and quality of care.
